Tourist/visitor visa vs study visa: know the difference
What each visa is for
A visitor/tourist visa is a temporary entry for tourism, visiting family, or short business — it does not permit long-term study or employment. A study permit/visa authorises you to study a specific program at an approved school. A work permit authorises employment. Each has its own eligibility, documents and conditions.
Why misusing a tourist visa is dangerous
Some agents wrongly suggest entering on a tourist visa and "converting" it. Studying or working on a visitor visa breaches its conditions and can lead to refusal, cancellation, or a re-entry ban — damaging your record for every future application. Always apply for the visa that matches your real purpose.
