Duolingo English Test (DET)
A low-cost, at-home, computer-adaptive English test scored 10–160, accepted by a growing number of universities but not all visa routes.
The DET is cheaper and quicker than IELTS and taken online with remote proctoring. Many universities accept it for admission, but several student-visa routes (and some courses) still require IELTS/PTE. Check both the university and the visa English rule before choosing it.
