LMIA (Labour Market Impact Assessment)
A document a Canadian employer may need to prove hiring a foreign worker will not harm the local labour market.
A positive LMIA lets an employer hire abroad and can add points to an Express Entry profile. It is obtained by the employer, not the worker — be very wary of anyone selling a "guaranteed LMIA job offer" for a large fee, a well-known fraud.
