OPT / CPT (US practical training)
Work authorisation tied to an F-1: CPT during your course, and OPT (12 months, +24 for STEM) after graduation.
CPT is course-related work during study; OPT is post-study work in your field, 12 months with a 24-month STEM extension. Both need authorisation through your school's international office and USCIS — working without it breaks your status. Confirm current rules at your DSO and USCIS.
