Scholarships to study abroad for Punjab students
The three types
University scholarships are awarded by the institution on merit or need and often applied for with (or just after) admission. Government scholarships are prestigious and competitive — Chevening (UK), DAAD (Germany), Fulbright (USA), Australia Awards — usually needing a strong academic record and leadership. External scholarships come from private trusts, companies and NGOs. Many students combine a partial scholarship with an education loan.
How to find and apply
Start on your target universities' financial-aid/scholarship pages and each scheme's official website. Note deadlines early — many close months before term and need essays, references and proof of need or merit. Apply to several; a partial award still cuts your costs and strengthens the visa funds picture.
Avoiding scholarship scams
No legitimate scholarship asks you to pay a "registration", "processing" or "guarantee" fee, and none guarantees an award for money. Apply only through official university and scheme websites, never share OTPs or bank details with a "scholarship agent", and treat any unsolicited "you've won a scholarship, pay to claim" message as a scam.
