GIC (Guaranteed Investment Certificate)

A Canadian bank account you fund before you travel to prove living-cost money; it is released to you in instalments after you arrive.

A GIC is the standard way Punjab students show Canadian living funds (commonly CAD $20,635, verify current amount at IRCC). You buy it from a participating bank, the money is held, and a set amount is returned monthly after you land. It is your money — not a fee.
